Cardamom popularly known as “Ilaichi” or “Elaichi’ in India and referred to as “Queen of Spices”. It is actually a dried fruit of a tall perennial plant. In India Cardamom is cultivated in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil nadu. Because of its aroma and flavor Cardamom is one of the most expensive spices in the world. India is one of the biggest producers of Cardamom in the world. The useful part of Cardamom is the dried mature fruit.
Indian green cardamom is offered to the international markets in different grades: ‘Alleppey Green Extra Bold’ (AGEB), ‘Alleppey Green Bold’ (AGB) and ‘Alleppey Green Superior’ (AGS) are names that register instant appeal worldwide. Cardamom oil is a precious ingredient in food preparations, perfumery, health foods medicines and beverages. India, a traditional exporter of cardamom to the Middle East countries where it goes mostly into the preparation of ‘Gahwa’ – a strong cardamom – coffee concoction without which no day is complete or no hospitality hearty for an Arab.
We primarily source our Green Cardamoms directly from the farmlands of Idukki, Kerala followed by other Cardamom growing states. We carefully inspect the goods and follow all the government parameters prior to its packaging in order to export the finest quality of cardamom to our clients.
